Harvest more for your life!

Lately as I notice the night air become cooler I begin to feel a shift in my soul.  I absolutely love the seasons.  In the fall I begin to feel a restlessness in me to find ways to harvest more from my life. Summer is a time when I slow down and enjoy a slower pace although I choose a much slower and contemplative life than most fall brings a need to begin new projects and set new goals for the coming months.

I often have to remind myself that my life is of my own choosing and that to play full-out is something I tend to forget from time to time.  Fall always reminds me of harvest.  I live in a rural village where I love driving 5 mins to a wonderful orchard for fresh apples, plums and pears.  Also local farm markets are full of fresh veggies!  The colors, tastes, smells and richness of this season entices me to live life more fully.  Because I don’t play full-out at times, fall reminds me of another summer season that has come and gone and now it is time to harvest more from my life.

I like to ask myself questions about what I can do to ramp up my passion for life.  I know in my heart that we only have this very moment and there are days when I spent way to much time planning and worrying about the future.  Interesting enough the more I surrender to the moment the more alive I feel. Also interesting enough I also know that in this moment is where I am inspired and new and exciting ideas are formed here.

Fall is a time to remember that life goes by way to quickly and to harvest more from it sometimes means putting into practice those seeds of inspiration that we have long been tending.  Fall remind us of all that is available to us when we push past our comfort zone and harvest those new and exciting ideas by putting them into action.  As any good gardener knows that there is a time to harvest your crop before it rots! :)

What can you do to increase your passion for life?  Do something you have been thinking about that would light you up and fill your heart with joy!  Start that project that you have been thinking about all summer. ( or longer) Harvest your bliss!!

I invite all of us to harvest more from life!

Do you become a prisoner of your “Bad Moods”

It is amazing how quickly we can shift our feelings when we become more conscious of them.  So may of us go throughout the day slipping in and out of different kinds of “bad moods”.  We blame them on the weather, other people, health, our work or sometime we just accept them with no reason.  There was a time I thought once I was in a bad mood that was it for the rest of the day!

It has taken a few years but now I realize I have a choice and I am able to shift much of the time.  Mind you sometimes I am resistant to shifting because I am feeling quite justified to have this bad mood :) but the truth is I still have a choice.  No one or no thing or circumstance can make us feel anything.  Our consciousness is made up of thoughts and beliefs and just like a computer we can reprogram our moods. We can choose to see our day through different filters. Of course many things can contribute to our moods, some very serious but for the most part we can choose to determine the outcome of our day by setting an intension to shift our “bad” moods when we are aware they are not serving ourselves or others.

Mind you sometimes I need  to give myself permission to have a pity party especially when I am really feeling out of sorts.  I will then use this time to either journal and uncover what part of me needs extra attention that day, or go walk on the beach and have a heart to heart with God.  Most importantly I work hard to not project it on others and I set a limited time when I need to shift out of it.

Some of the things that work for me are calling a friend or listening to some uplifting music. Maybe even taking a 2 min dance break in my office works wonders.  Other times simply putting on a funny YouTube video can do it, but what mostly always works for me is stopping in the moment take a few deep breathes and reset my thoughts with new and empowering thoughts.  When it is more serious journaling can be a wonderful tool because our feelings are amazing clues to go deeper and see what needs our attention.  But the fact is that if we are willing shift or let our “bad moods” teach us, we can transform ourselves with new creative and new uplifting ideas and thoughts that can make our days a lot lighter for everyone!

What can you do this week that will help you shift from your “bad” moods?

Become an Evolutionary

The word Evolutionary is used allot these days.  There is a intuition that seems to have an urgency connected that is calling us all to awaken.  Awaken to the new possibilities for our world.  We intuitively know that our world cannot continue on the same path if we want this beautiful planet to be here for the next generations.

There is a feeling of sort that seems to be waking up in many of us to this call to change.  Sometimes it may seem daunting!  But it takes so little for each of us to stand in a place of williningness.  If we are willing nothing is impossible!  Part of this call is to use less and love more.  The only real answer is love.  I heard Greg Braden speak recently and I am not sure if this is his quote but he said love is the only answer for every question!

This week the invitation is how we can use less, whether that is resources or people.  We need to become more aware and present to what we eat, buy and how we treat others. We have already uncovered the uselessness of coveting, we need to honour each other as a global family and put more value on each other.  Find ways to share who and what we have.  Be that change that Ghandi speaks of.  We only need to make small changes and this will lead to bigger and wiser choices.  Reach out in love and acceptance instead of anger and gossip this week.  Challenge ourselves to be the change in our work places.  Find ways to fill our hearts and others with peace.  We can all start at home and around our communities.

This is the true Evolution, become what we want to see in the world!  Stop waiting for someone else to make a change. No matter what our belief or spiritual practices are let us be accepting and open to learning from each other.  What ever we call our higher power, no matter what we believe, we all need to live and survive here on mother earth together.  Instead of trying to convert others convert ourselves into an instruments of peace and love.

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
